Since when and why do you participate as a contributor to our HOsiHO collections?
What do you like about creating aerial images?
From where are you ? How did you come to drone?
I am from Alsace near Mulhouse, eastern France. I discovered the drone thanks to the famous show "Des Racines et des Ailes" (french TV program) which regularly uses this process to shoot
Do you have a background in audiovisual creation?
Not especially, I'm just a photo enthusiast since 2009, year of obtaining the Private Pilot's Certificate. The camera has since left the passenger seat of the different machines on which I fly.
For you, a drone is ...?
A concentrate of great technology that can immortalize from the air inaccessible places in microlight or plane. Above all, it offers aerial views at wide angles.
Difficult to obtain with large aircraft because of wings, shrouds or even glass.
Do you shoot aerial shots differently? Did you do it before? With what vectors and for how long?
I realize most of my images using a microlight high-wings Skyranger type. Others in paramotor take off in trolley.
And others also by plane, but more rarely because it is necessary to be able to free itself from the reflections of the cockpit.
Do you consider yourself today a passionate stock-shooter?
Not especially, my pleasure of flying goes well before that of producing beautiful images. I let the chance of a beautiful light encountered in flight do the rest!
How did you get the idea of creating images for stock? Do you think this is a lucrative business in the long run?
I discovered by chance that JPEG photos could be sold by being contacted by various tourism stakeholders, publishing houses or local businesses.
As long as it allows me to finance my next flights I am the happiest in the world.
Your portfolio is impressive, how long did it take to build it?
I shoot images since 2009, with the time it is several thousand aerial views of Alsace that are accumulated on hard drives.
Your next shooting projects, trips?
Continue to capture images of the eastern France and the Alps with the most beautiful lights of the day. Side trip I have a weakness for the USA and its large wild spaces that offer rare images.
A conclusion ?
HOSIHO allows to be known on a larger scale in Europe or even in the world.
For a small regional aerial photographer like me it's a great opportunity, thank you Sami for your motivation and availability.
Thanks to you Tristan for your extraordinary images and your support!
