An island with a varied relief
The United Kingdom has a varied relief. Wales is predominantly mountainous, while the north and west of Scotland is crossed by a mountainous massif of medium altitude. The highest point of the country, the Ben Nevis, rises to only 1,344 meters. England has some hilly regions, including the Lake District, but their altitude remains below 1,000 meters.
